How to Get Your OpenAI API Key

Auto Metadata AI uses OpenAI's GPT-4 Vision API to analyze your stock photos and generate accurate microstock metadata. You'll need to get your own API key.

Step 1: Create an OpenAI Account

  1. Click "Get API Key" in the app, or go to platform.openai.com/api-keys
  2. Sign up or log in to your OpenAI account

Step 2: Create a New API Key

  1. Click "Create new secret key" at the top right
  2. Give your key a name (anything you want)
  3. Click "Create secret key"

⚠️ Important: Copy your key immediately! It will only be shown once. If you lose it, you'll need to create a new one.

Step 3: Save Your Key in the App

  1. Paste your API key into the input box
  2. Click "Save Key"
  3. You only need to do this once - the key is saved for future sessions

Add Credit to Your OpenAI Account

Before using the API, you need to add credit to your OpenAI account.

  1. In the app, click "Add Credit"
  2. Or go directly to OpenAI Billing
  3. Click "Add to credit balance"
  4. Add at least $5 (this can process approximately 10,000 stock images)

Generate Stock Photo Metadata

  1. Open the "Metadata Generator" tab
  2. Drag and drop your stock photos into the app
  3. You can also click to browse and select files

  3. The title, description, and keywords are written directly into the file
